Tonawanda Rails to Trails
Foit-Albert Associates provided office engineer/construction inspection services for the Tonawanda Rails-to-Trails Project, maintaining records of construction, material certifications, preparing/checking daily work reports/diaries, preparing estimates, and project closeout. The 4 miles long 12’ wide asphalt surface walking/biking trail was built atop a former railroad right of way and connects to the North Buffalo Rails to Trails. The trail crosses heavily used intersections and includes a High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk or HAWK signal at Sheridan Drive and Kenmore Avenue to control the crossing movements of the trail/street crossing.
