Fire Extinguishing Systems Replacement
In a Design-Build relationship with Davis-Ulmer Fire Protection, Foit-Albert provided Professional Evaluation and Design services related to the replacement of existing CO2 and Halon fire suppression systems with new water-based pre-action sprinkler systems.
Foit-Albert’s Licensed Fire Protection and Mechanical Engineers toured the existing NYPA facilities at the Robert Moses Niagara Power Project in Niagara Falls, NY and the Lewiston Pump Generating Plant in Lewiston, NY and made assessments on the existing fire suppression installations.
Working with our construction partner, Foit-Albert then assisted in the development of construction design documents and calculations required to replace existing fire suppression systems with new pre-action fire suppression systems. This design included fire damper replacements, fire alarm integration, and a water drainage study to ensure that sensitive adjacent areas would not be impacted in a water release event.
