
Weidrick Road over Genesee River
Foit-Albert Associates was contracted by the Allegany County Department of Public Works to provide services involved in the replacement of Federal Aid Project located on Weidrick Road over Genesee River in the town of Wellsville, NY.
The new bridge consists of a 117’ single-span precast reinforced concrete NEBT beams founded on a semi-integral abutment with H-Piles and cast-in-place wingwalls. The NEBT beams were “girder launched” using a slider beam and two cranes. The rise varies between 3’ and 6’. New bridge rail and guide rail were installed to meet current standards. The roadway has have a full depth replacement for approximately 50’ to the intersection to the west and 250’ to the east along with a minor portion of the adjacent wag trail. The existing steel sheet pile abutments were left in place to provide scour protection to the new abutments.
A full, off-site detour was utilized around the site during construction.
