
Upstate Airport Economic Development
Foit-Albert Associates, as a subconsultant under a NYSDOT Term (RDSA) contract, was charged with designing a new esthetically pleasing sub-residency building as part of the Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization at the Ithaca Airport.
The scope of our services centered on architectural design, structural foundation, steel and wood frame design, including survey.
The building has adequate vehicle storage for 10 trucks, loader and tow plow, with one additional double mechanical bay and truck washing bay. It also includes an office area, Lunch/break room (30
people), toilet/shower/locker rooms, storage rooms and mechanical/electrical rooms. Work included providing parking for 40 vehicles.
In addition, a salt barn, cold storage pole barn and fuel tank system was designed for the site.
The initial design was acknowledged to the extent that it will be the prototype for all similar NYSDOT buildings.
