Buffalo Niagara International Airport
Foit-Albert Associates provided architectural design services for renovation to the baggage claim area of the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
This project encompassed the construction of a 2-story addition adjacent to the east and west sides of the main entrance of the Buffalo Niagara international Airport. The addition will house relocated administration offices, restrooms, baggage offices, loading docks, concession space, baggage handling space, and storage. Existing space on the arrivals level will be renovated to convert baggage claim carrousels to sloped plate type and add a fourth carousel. The project also opens up space on the departures level to expand the security checkpoint. The addition provides a new covered passageway from the international fight arrival area. Most importantly, these additions make it possible to separate passenger arrival and departure traffic for improved traffic flow, throughput and a better passenger experience.
Foit-Albert provided on-site Construction Management support services under a separate contract.
