NYC Health & Hospitals Term Contract

Foit-Albert is currently providing architecture, civil and structural design services as a subconsultant for a term contract involving health and hospital facilities in New York City.

Contract scope for each hospital to date:
North Central Bronx Hospital
Expansion of closets to house upgraded VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) phone systems
Emergency power upgrades
Mechanical Unit renovations

Jacobi Medical Center
Building 1, 6 & 8 IT Upgrades
Building 4 Interior Renovations
Building 4 IT Upgrades
Jacobi Medical Center Building 7 Interior Renovations

Challenges: This is an occupied building with renovation and construction activities coinciding with day-to-day operations. Careful communication between all involved is imperative. Also, portions of the contract are executed as Design/Build. We must work swiftly to obtain critical info and dimensions from occupied areas during our limited site visits. Construction documents generated are always on a aggressive schedule to minimize the impact on medical care. Accuracy and speed are paramount
