Kleinhans Music Hall Roof Rehabilitation

Foit-Albert Associates, as the prime consultant, was responsible for architectural and construction administration services related to the rehabilitation of the roof at Kleinhans Music Hall in the City of Buffalo.

The scope of services for this project includes the removal of the damaged roof components, restoration of existing plymovent then installing the existing plymovent on a proper roof curb. The in-kind roofing related items will also be replaced including flashing, sealant, fan ventilators and clerestory lintels.

Project Details: The roof was experiencing leaking

Foit-Albert’s architect first conducted a conditions assessment to note the current roof conditions and noted problems.  A comparative analysis of costs, benefits and potential challenges associated with options for recoating, replacement or repairing was detailed for the client.  Pre and Schematic design phases were followed with the completion of bid and construction documents with input environmental, cost estimating and roofing subconsultants.

Phased roof evaluation and rehabilitation project for the local and national landmark. Because of its landmark status, preservation considerations are required for the duration of the work.
