East Sherman Hollow over Sugar Creek
Foit-Albert Associates has been contracted by Yates County to provide services involved in the removal and replacement of East Sherman Road bridge deck over Sugar Creek in the town of Jerusalem, NY.
This LDSA project involves the removal and replacement of the superstructure. The potential for removing the center pier was examined however the existing abutments could not accommodate the new loading. Minor repairs will be made to the substructure. New bearings and bridge seats were included. A hydraulic analysis was performed to ensure 2’ of freeboard can be maintained with the new superstructure. Surface water is conveyed by roadside ditches. No public utilities required relocation. New signage, striping and guide rail was installed.
