Foit-Albert Associates, as a subconsultant, is responsible for providing design survey and mapping services for the Empire State Trail project in Region 8 under a NYSDOT Statewide RDSA contract (D037615-01).
The tasks generally consisted of design survey and mapping and right-of-way survey and mapping following the Project Development Manual and conformed to the required NYSDOT documents.
In January 2017, the Governor of New York announced the creation of the Empire State Trail, a 750-mile bicycle and walking trail that will span from Buffalo to Albany, and from New York City through the Hudson and Champlain Valleys to Canada. The NYS Department of Transportation will oversee on-road improvements where public roadways offer the best opportunity for the Trail route.
Under this NYSDOT RDSA agreement, the project consisted of design of the trail, on-road segments in Ulster, Dutchess and Columbia Counties consisting of 34.1 miles.
