Maintenance and Vehicle Subheadquarters Building
Foit-Albert Associates was selected as a subconsultant as architect of record for the design of a New York State Department of Transportation sub-headquarters building. The new pre-engineered steel building will also house offices, locker rooms, bathrooms, tool room, mechanical rooms, and a break room.
Project Details: The New York State Department of Transportation is making improvements to their regional maintenance facilities across the state to improve their daily operations and their response during emergencies. A previous Program Report was prepared in September, 2013 that identified the need for a new vehicle storage facility and associated site improvements.
During the Program Phase, Foit-Albert personnel reviewed the programmatic needs of the proposed vehicle storage building which included building function, number of occupants, and number of spaces, aesthetics, space standards, design concepts and future maintenance. Additional work involved evaluating ADA accessibility and egress routes, preliminary code review, specification recommendations, and assistance in the final Program Report.
Currently, architects are completing drawings and specifications for construction documents.
